✝ In My Darkest Moment

A Free Catholic AI Ministry  ·  501(c)(3) Nonprofit

In My Darkest Moment was built for the person who types “I cannot go on” into a search engine at 2am. It draws from the Catholic tradition — the saints, the Psalms, the mystics — and offers accompaniment, not instruction.

The ministry is free. No account required. No data sold. The person’s darkest moments belong to them alone.

What This Ministry Does

It accompanies people in acute and chronic suffering. Grief. Fear. Isolation. Spiritual darkness. The 2am that will not end. It does not replace a priest, a therapist, or a doctor. It is a companion in the tradition of the Church — present, patient, unhurried.

It draws from over 16,000 passages of Catholic tradition: the Douay-Rheims Bible, Augustine’s Confessions, John of the Cross, Jean-Pierre de Caussade, Aquinas, Faustina, Butler’s Lives of the Saints, and more.

What Raphael Draws From

The sources Raphael draws from fall into three categories. The first is the papal Magisterium u2014 encyclicals and apostolic letters of the popes, which carry inherent doctrinal authority. The second is the writings of Doctors of the Church, whose works are recognized through canonization and formal designation. The third is spiritual classics and biblical commentaries published within the Catholic tradition. All sources are attributed. A Theological Reviewer is being appointed to vet and govern the third category before any expansion of the corpus.
